with the name? You will noticed that my last name isn't
Potter, it's Gober. I am not married to anyone named Potter, nor has any
part of my name been Potter... except online. So what's the deal right?
MISSMARYPOTTER
Books™ was conceived baised on an online identity I created for
myself over six years ago. As a fan of Beatrix Potter, J.K Rowling's works
the Harry Potter™ series, and several other Potters, that
friends and family have come to know me as Miss Mary Potter.
Miss Mary
Potter, started out as an online fan-fiction/RPG character I invented
in 2002, named Mary Sue Potter (she was supposed to be an unofficial Aunt
of Harry's he never knew in fan-fiction arenas, in case you were wondering).
Fan-fiction authors will understand the joke in the name, because I had
put myself into the character. The idea for the fan-fiction concept faded
over time, and this just became a domain to pay homage to and record my wonderings with my passion for
J.K Rowling's works. MISSMARYPOTTER Books™ IS NOT AFFILIATED OR
ASSOCIATED WITH ANY ENTITY OF J.K. ROWLING, HARRY POTTER™, BLOOMSBURY,
WARNER BROTHERS™ OR SCHOLASTIC™ IN ANYWAY.
75% of what
I have done online over the past six years has been under the screenname
MISSMARYPOTTER. I am very attached to the alias, and there are very few
people that don't know me by this identity. In 2007 I adopted it for the
title of my production company to release my first novel Mercury
Brightman: The First Sign©.
So that's
the story folks. That is how MISSMARYPOTTER Books™ got its name.
It is the screenname I have been publishing poetry, blogs, and art under
for six years now via DeviantArt.com
and various websites. I like the name... and besides, I was a potter
in college, and I love tea pots, but that's stretching it a little. Cheers
